General guidance, not a diagnosis
Our guides explain how pressure washing and soft washing work and what usually happens on common surfaces around Knoxville. Every house is different: the age of the siding, the paint, the condition of the wood, how the gutters were hung and what's growing all change what's safe and what will work. Only someone looking at your property can tell you that.
Cost figures
The prices on our cost pages are rounded ranges from national consumer cost guides. They aren't local quotes, they aren't guaranteed, and they don't include every add-on. The figure that counts is the one agreed for your job.
Do-it-yourself advice
Where a guide gives tips for washing something yourself, use them at your own risk. Pressure washers can injure people and damage property. Read your machine's manual, wear eye protection, stay off ladders with a pressure wand, and leave roofs to people with the right equipment.
Chemicals
We describe cleaning solutions in general terms, such as diluted sodium hypochlorite. Mixing household chemicals can be dangerous. Never combine bleach with ammonia or acidic cleaners.
Health questions
Algae and mildew on the outside of a home are a cleaning matter. Mold inside a home, or any health concern, is a question for the right professional, not a washing company.
Rules and permits
We mention Knox County's stormwater rules and Tennessee's lack of a state washing licence because they affect how the work is done. Rules change; the county, the state and your homeowners association have the final word.
Other websites
Where we mention a government agency, we don't control its site or what it says.
